Services

K9 University offers a variety of private and group training services. Private dog training sessions are ideal for dog owners whose: work schedules do not fit group class times, who prefer one-on-one instruction at a training facility or in the privacy of their own home, who want to work on specific in-home dog manners and behaviors, who have a dog that is fearful or aggressive, who may not be comfortable in a group setting and/or who want undivided, focused attention from a dog trainer for an extended period.

Meanwhile, group training offers dog owners an array of class types with added socialization. Group classes are currently being held at Club K9 at the Ranch.

Private Training

May Include:

Puppy-proofing your home
Potty training
Crate training
Bringing a new dog into your home
Preparing your dog for and bringing a human baby home
Excessive barking
Jumping on guests
Doorbell mania
Counter surfing
Basic in-home manners
Loose leash walking
Canine fitness
Coming when called
Waiting politely for meals and before entering/exiting doorways, cars, etc.
Assistance with any unwanted behaviors

Therapy Training

Therapy work involves volunteers who schedule visits to various facilities and locations such:

Nursing homes
Classrooms
Libraries
Assisted living centers
Hospices
Funeral homes
Schools/Colleges
Shelters
Courtrooms
Hospitals
Therapy centers
Special events

American Kennel Club Titles

The following certifications can be earned during any training session:

AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Therapy Dog International (TDI) Test Preparation and Testing
AKC Community Canine (CGCA) and AKC Urban Canine Good Citizen (CGCU)
AKC Temperament (ATT) lPreparation and Testing
AKC Therapy Dog
AKC Trick Dog (TKN, TKI, TKA, TKP, TKE)
AKC Fit Dog Levels 1, 2, and 3
